This Thursday, April 23, I will be attending and speaking at the GFOA-MO Annual Conference 2026.
From 11:05 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. in the Harbor Ballroom, I will be presenting “Role of the Finance Director in the Organization – View of the City Administrator/Manager.”
This session will explore what City Administrators look for in a Finance Director, how the role interacts with department heads, and the responsibilities the Finance Director carries when communicating with the public.
The session is approved for 1 CPE credit in Business Management and Organization.
Having served as a City Administrator and now working closely with municipalities through Interim Solutions, I have seen firsthand how strong finance leadership contributes to organizational stability and builds council confidence.
I look forward to connecting with Missouri’s municipal finance professionals and having a thoughtful conversation about what an effective partnership between the Administrator and Finance Director looks like in practice.
When it comes to managing public funds, transparency, accountability, and strategic planning are essential. That’s where the Government Finance Officers Association of Missouri (GFOA Missouri) plays a critical role.
